Vanderbilt ranks 14th among top law schools based on scholarly impact

Vanderbilt Law School was ranked 14th (in a tie with Cornell) among the 35 top law faculties based on the average number of scholarly citations attributed to its faculty members since 2000.

The study, completed by University of Texas law and philosophy professor Brian Leiter, ranks law faculties according to the number of times scholarly works by tenured or tenure-track professors are cited in other scholarly works since 2000.

“This study underscores the fact that the accomplished and committed scholars on our faculty are doing important work that is having a major impact on legal scholarship in the United States,” said Dean Edward L. Rubin. “And scholars who are interested and engaged in advancing legal scholarship bring that enthusiasm to the classroom, where it benefits our students.”
